British home office specifically protects gender-identity in its equality mandate 537 Reads
.

News I was trawling around a website in search of some information and came across the equality and diversity policy of the British Home Office on thier website.

It was nice to see gender identity specifically mentioned in thier mandate.

Our mandate is to build a safe, just and tolerant society for everyone in the UK, regardless of their race, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability or age.

Diary: New partner, Operation and work updates 796 Reads
.
.
Diary Well a lot of things have changed since my last post.

Firstly I am not single anymore and what is even more surprising for me is that my partner is male. I really do not mean for that to sound sexist as most of you will know that I am not that sort of person, but even as recently as 1 month ago I could not see myself in any form of relationship with a guy, however over the past couple of weeks, not only have I felt that it could work but I wanted to be in a relationship with him.

Diary: Shoulder surgery again and HRT break 612 Reads
.
.
Diary Oh joy of joys.

I need a third operation on my left shoulder. Apparently I have some excess bone growth damaging the tendon which is causing me all this pain for the past year or two.

I am booked in for surgery on the 17th January but have to stop the oestrogen due to the increased risks of a DVT or blood clot forming. I should be able to start it back up 1 week post op.

The surgeon proposes a General Aneasthetic, 3 keyhole incisions one on each of the top, front and back of my shoulder, will go in and remove 2 chunks of bone from the shoulder and collarbone and then it is a case of an overnight stay, off work 2 weeks, 3 months minimum to recover and be able to sleep on that shoulder and shed loads of physio post op :(

Well this guy is apparently one of the best shoulder guys in the country so if anyone can fix it and stop this damn pain then it is probably him. So I get to dissapear off to harley street on the 17th and should be back in work start of Febuary.

So please think of me and keep your fingers crossed.

Hugs

Sarah

Diary: Change in HRT 659 Reads
.
.
Diary Well not much has been happening.

My friend unfortunately had to cancel coming down in December but we are going to get together in the new year instead now. It seems that we are a lot more than friends already even if we have not yet met up IRL.

I have had to change to Progynova instead of Premarin due to supply problems that have been about for a while. I am unsure if I am taking an appropriate dosage or not but will prolly switch back or change again when Premarin is easier to get hold of again.

Ive just caught a chest infection from my ex partner which has had me off work the past 2 days with difficulty breathing and coughing fits but hopefully should be well enough to go back to work tommorow. Daft thing is that it doesn't bother me I have caught it. Someone had to look after my ex especially as I was very close to calling an ambulance out for her the other night where she was seriously looking like she needed a nebuliser. Seems the tables are turned now and she is looking after me. I have been told I am not staying home alone in this state and will be staying at hers this week.

I think that is about all the news there is for now.

Hugs

News I have just added a new image taken earlier today. I will try adding some more soon, but being scared of being in front of a camera I am not making any promises lol.

I think you will agree I have changed an awful lot over the years since my last pictures were taken.

Hugs

Diary: Hope, sleep and injury 579 Reads

Diary Well what has been happening and where to start?

I don’t normally write about this sort of thing here but I’m so happy about it, there is a good friend I am really interested in. We both seem to like each other, but I just have this problem believing that anyone as lovely and cute as her could ever be interested in me. We are supposed to be meeting up in early December and I am really looking forward to it, I just hope that she doesn’t meet me and hate me on sight as I really like her and it is getting to the point where I would love something to come of it, just cant believe that I could be that lucky, I suppose I will just have to wait and see.

Diary: Life crisis, relationships and moving house 725 Reads
.
.
Diary Sorry for the delay between posts but I have been very busy and stressed recently.

After nearly 5 years, my relationship with my ex partner has ended.

This happened about a month ago, I got home on the Friday after my 3rd laser treatment appointment and got the shock of my life when I was told, "We need to talk, You are not going to like what I am going to say, It's over".

As far as I was aware, there was nothing wrong in our relationship at the time and if anything we seemed to have been getting on even better than we had for a while. so this all came as a bolt from the blue to me. Sue said that I didn’t have to move out of the flat immediately and she would go and live with her parents for a while till I could find somewhere to live, she then said she would be back on the Monday to talk about logistics and left. I think it goes without saying that I was in a state for a couple of days after that.

Click on read more for the rest of this undoubtedly long post and an update on the laser situation.

More laser news, uni results and other stuff 28801 Reads

Diary Well whats been happening..

Ive got the results back from the first uni course I did which was the Introduction To Radio Astronomy and I am very pleased to say that I managed a pass with merit in the first real study I have done for over 18 years :) This pleasently surprised me as I was hoping to just scrape a pass if I was lucky.

The laser has continued I had my 2nd full treatment nearly a month ago and was due for the next on on Friday, however I got struck down with the cold from hell that appeared from nowhere yesterday afternoon and I have re-scheduled session 3 for next Friday instead. Lasercare seem very good about that sort of thing.

Diary: Provera and the lastest update on laser 691 Reads
.
.
Diary As I have mentioned in one of my last Diary posts, I have restarted the provera and as such my emotions are all over the place again. Add to that the stress of my partner having been off work for 6 weeks after open surgery and the constant redoing work because they just have not got a clue how they want things done and as soon as I complete work to spec they decide to go and change it all over again, you can probably guess this I am not in the best state of mind at the moment.

The laser treatment has made a big difference. It took about a fortnight for my skin to settle down properly again and all the dea hair to drop out but it has made a big difference after just one session.

Got to go back for the second treatment in another 2 weeks and have 6 booked in total which should be enough with just the odd one or two top up sessions a year after that. or may switch to classical electroylsis then.

But it was certainly worth going for laser for the fast start.
